Why choose Clear Path Pediatric Therapy?
At CPPT LLC, therapy is always research driven and outcome-focused. We use the latest, state-of-the-art assessment technology and are continually increasing our knowledge and improving our skill-set by keeping up with new research and attending trainings that will directly benefit our clients. We always work in close partnership with families, caregivers, teachers, etc., keeping an open dialogue and striving to achieve you and your child's goals together. We ensure home practice activities are provided to support carryover and quicker progress when appropriate. We value the relationships with our clients and families and truly love what we do! We look forward to working with you!
Do you accept insurance?
We do currently accept Highmark insurance, and are hoping to be able to accept other insurance companies in the near future. If you do not have Highmark insurance, you are welcome to reach out to your insurance provider to inquire about the possibility of them covering services for an out-of-network provider. We are happy to provide a superbill upon request, in which we provide appropriate codes for the services rendered that you would then submit to your insurance company for "possible" reimbursement. We do not deal directly with all insurance companies, only Highmark at this point in time.
For private payment, we do accept cash, checks, credit cards, and health savings account cards (HSA).
How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?
If you think your child may have a speech or language delay, you are in the right place! We offer FREE phone consultations to help determine if a screening or full evaluation is warranted. Call (717) 602-2848 OR 724-249-6676 today for a free phone consultation, or click the "contact" button to get in touch with us to schedule your free consultation.
It is also a good idea to speak with your pediatrician, day care provider, or teacher. They can be very good at gauging your child's speech/language skills based on what other children of the same age are doing. All kids develop differently and excel in different areas.

My child is receiving services through the school district, but I am interested in additional therapy for my child. Is this allowed?
Absolutely! Whether your child has never received services, or your child is currently receiving services, you always have the right to private therapy. Private therapy is a great way to supplement services that are being provided in the schools, as we come to you and can help generalize the skills targeted at school, and can dedicate our entire attention to your child during his/her therapy session (as opposed to group therapy sessions). Our small caseload sizes allow us the opportunity to truly personalize each therapy session to individually meet each clients' needs and make adjustments along the way as your child's goals are achieved.
What can I expect at the evaluation?
Evaluations vary per client, typically lasting between 1-2 hours, depending upon the areas being assessed. These evaluations allow the Speech Language Pathologist the opportunity to evaluate speech and language skills through standardized tests, observation, history information and parent report. During the evaluation, if it is found that your child is having difficulties in areas that are outside the scope of practice for the SLP, including an Audiologist, ENT, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Orthodontist, etc., a referral may be made to another professional.
Following the evaluation, you will receive a brief verbal summary of the findings. If therapy is warranted, the written evaluation report will be reviewed with you at the first therapy appointment. During this first appointment, the therapist will work with the family to generate appropriate outcomes and goals to best meet the clients' needs. If it is found that your child has attained age appropriate speech and language skills, there will be no further appointments and you will receive a written report in the mail.
How long and frequent are therapy sessions?
How long and frequent are therapy sessions?
Due to unique needs of each client, therapy is always tailored to the unique needs of the individual. All therapy sessions are 30 minutes in length. Depending on the type and severity of deficits, therapy is recommended at 1x, 2x, or 3x per week. The scope and duration of therapy will be discussed during the first appointment following the evaluation.
