Playful Pals Group - Ages 3 - 5
Where play time is learning time!
Service Description
Playful Pals is an afternoon facilitated play group for preschool aged children. Led by our Family Support Coordinator, Brooke Nutting, this group will focus on providing structured gross motor play, short interactive activities, and a social snack time. Brooke has her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and several years of experience leading social play groups for children. Sessions are $15 each or a 4 pack for $55. Sessions are held on Thursdays from 12:30pm-1:30pm in February and March. Please plan to send a pre-packaged snack along to Playful Pals. If your child has an allergy, please identify that on your enrollment. If any student has an allergy, we will ask other parents to refrain from sending in snacks with that allergy. Thank you for helping to make this group inclusive! Parents must wait on site during this group. We have 2 waiting rooms available with snacks, coffee, and water. This group is ideal for preschool children who would benefit from opportunities to be a part of a group, follow adult and peer models, and practice early-learning skills. Children who may be a good fit for this group often: -Want to connect with peers but may require an adult facilitator. -Benefit from gross motor play being embedded into learning. -Enjoy sensory based play. -May feel overwhelmed or frustrated during group activities, transitions, or peer play. -Do well with predictable routines, visual supports, and clear expectations. This group is supportive of children with a variety of communication and learning profiles, including (but not limited to) children with: Social communication differences. Language-based learning differences. ADHD. Autism or other neurodevelopmental differences. This group will have an enrollment size of up to 5 children and 1 facilitator. Outside agency 1:1 support services are welcomed to accompany your child. This group may not be the right fit if your child needs 1:1 support to stay safe in environments but your child currently does not have a 1:1 support person to accompany him or her. Please reach out via email if you have questions. We are happy to help families explore other options that may be a better fit. Children do not need a diagnosis to participate. Children do not need to be potty trained to participate. Children do not need to be a Clear Path Pediatric Therapy client to participate.
