An Important Update from Clear Path
It has always been a dream of mine to own a private practice one day. To create a beautiful, welcoming, and caring space where children, families, and our community could feel supported, loved, and receive the very best services possible. Last December, that dream became a reality when we officially opened the doors to our Clear Path clinic. And over the last 11 months, we have experienced so much more than I could have ever imagined.
We met incredible families. We helped SO many children grow and reach new milestones. We welcomed the most amazing therapists and staff who poured their hearts into the children and families they served. We supported local nonprofits, gave back to our community, hosted events, and created a fun, safe, and loving space for young children and their caregivers through our free play opportunities and structured groups.
We did it all. Everything I had dreamed of and more.
Our caseloads grew quickly, and we found ourselves hiring more therapists to meet the needs of our growing community. We listened to our families, welcomed feedback, made adjustments, and continually looked for ways to do more and serve better. We were busy in the very best way, and we were making a real difference in the lives of so many children, families, and even our own team.
We truly were blessed with the BEST people. And for that, I will forever be grateful.
But as much as we got right, there has been one major obstacle we simply have not been able to overcome: the financial reality of operating a pediatric therapy clinic.
Insurance reimbursement rates have not kept pace with the cost of providing quality care. We experienced reimbursement changes midyear, and upcoming changes to speech therapy treatment codes are creating even more uncertainty for providers like us. Despite our growing caseloads, incredible team, and busy clinic, our revenue simply has not been enough to sustain the cost of operating the practice.
And that is an incredibly difficult reality to accept.
It is heartbreaking and frustrating to know how much need exists in our community, to see the difference being made every single day, and to recognize that the financial side of healthcare can ultimately determine whether a practice can keep its doors open. Families deserve access to quality care, therapists deserve to be fairly supported for the work they do, and small practices like ours need a sustainable way to continue serving their communities.
Unfortunately, we have reached the point where we can no longer carry the financial burden of the clinic, and we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close our clinic doors. Our final day of therapy at the pediatric clinic will be Thursday, December 31, 2026.
Although this chapter of Clear Path is coming to an end, Clear Path Pediatric Therapy as a whole is continuing forward. Our school-based and other contracted therapy services will continue, and we remain committed to the children, families, therapists, and community partners we serve through those settings. The closure of our clinic does not mean the end of Clear Path.
Following the closure, we will also be holding a clinic sale, with plans to sell the building and the items inside. Think of a HUGE indoor yard sale with furniture, sensory equipment, toys, games, treatment materials, and so much more! We have a lot of details to work through, but we promise there will be more information to come.
For now, though, I simply want to say THANK YOU.
Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for trusting us with your children. Thank you for referring your friends and family. Thank you for sharing our posts, attending our events, spreading the word about Clear Path, and helping us build something so special in such a short amount of time.
Whether you were a family we served, a fellow provider who referred a child to us, a community partner who collaborated with us, or someone who simply cheered us on from the sidelines, please know that your support has meant more than you will ever know.
I know our staff are just as heartbroken as I am. They have given so much of themselves to this clinic, and the impact they have made will not be erased by the closing of our doors. If you have a kind word, a favorite memory, or a message of encouragement you would like us to share with our team, please send it our way. I know those words will mean so much to them as we navigate these next two months together.
This is not how I imagined this chapter ending. Not even close. There is so much sadness in saying goodbye to something we worked so hard to build and to the people who made it what it was. But even in the heartbreak, I am choosing to be grateful. Grateful for the children who walked through our doors. Grateful for the families who trusted us. Grateful for the staff who gave it their all. Grateful for every connection, every milestone, every little victory, and every moment that reminded us why we started this in the first place.
Eleven months may seem short, but the impact we made will always be bigger than the amount of time we were here. This chapter may be ending, but it is not the end of our story. There is still so much good ahead for Clear Path, and I truly believe some amazing things are yet to come.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for allowing us to live out this dream, even if only for a little while. We will carry the memories, the relationships, and the impact of these past 11 months with us always.
With so much love and gratitude,
Megan Dennae
