Dawn Sampson, CCC-SLP
Operations Manager
Dawn is a pediatric speech language pathologist, wife, and mom of 3 who loves baking, playing piano, and reading good books. Her passion for this field began in high school, when Dawn’s foster sister, who had significant speech and language delays, struggled to express her wants and needs and be understood. Seeing how much it affected her daily life inspired Dawn to support other children in finding their voices, too. Dawn earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in 2006 and her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina in 2008. Since then, she had the joy of working with children and families in a variety of settings, including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, a pediatric developmental clinic, and school environments. Dawn specializes in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders and also really enjoys working with children who have articulation (the way they pronounce words when they talk), language (using more words and understanding words spoken to them), and cognitive needs (organized thinking skills). Dawn’s goal is for every child to feel comfortable, confident, and excited to come to therapy. She loves incorporating each child’s unique interests into our sessions because she believes that meaningful, engaging therapy leads to the best progress. Dawn values strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, and strives to keep communication open so families always feel informed, supported, and involved.
